Services
Our Houston office provides the full spectrum of gastroenterology services, from routine screening procedures to advanced therapeutic interventions for complex digestive disorders.
Represents one of our most important services. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in both men and women, yet it is highly preventable when precancerous polyps are detected and removed before they develop into cancer. Our gastroenterologists employ high-definition endoscopy equipment and careful, thorough technique to maximize polyp detection rates, providing you with the best possible protection against this preventable disease. We follow national screening guidelines recommending that average-risk individuals begin screening at age forty-five, with earlier screening for those with family history or other risk factors. Our team works with each patient to develop appropriate screening schedules based on individual circumstances, ensuring that you receive the right screening at the right time.
Allows us to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, and upper small intestine. If you are experiencing persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, upper abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or unexplained weight loss, upper endoscopy provides direct visualization of the upper digestive tract, enabling accurate diagnosis of conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal strictures, gastritis, and upper GI tumors. We also perform therapeutic procedures during upper endoscopy, including esophageal dilation for strictures, treatment of bleeding ulcers, removal of polyps, and ablation therapy for Barrett’s esophagus when indicated.
Available at our Houston location include ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) for bile duct and pancreatic conditions, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) for detailed imaging of the pancreas and surrounding structures, and other specialized techniques. These sophisticated procedures allow us to remove bile duct stones, place stents to relieve blockages, obtain tissue samples from pancreatic masses, drain fluid collections, and provide treatments that previously required surgery. Having these advanced capabilities available locally means that patients no longer need to travel to distant medical centers for specialized procedures.
Provides targeted examination of the lower colon and rectum when full colonoscopy is not needed. This procedure is particularly useful for evaluating rectal bleeding, lower abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, or following up on previously identified conditions in the lower colon.
Offers non-invasive examination of the small intestine using a pill-sized camera that you swallow. As the capsule travels through your digestive tract, it captures thousands of images that allow us to identify sources of bleeding, inflammation, tumors, or other abnormalities in the small intestine that cannot be reached with traditional endoscopy.
Provides quick, effective office-based treatment for internal hemorrhoids using rubber band ligation. This non-surgical procedure can be performed during a brief office visit, providing relief from bleeding and discomfort without requiring anesthesia or extensive recovery time.
